Edward Flores
Co-Owner

Edward grew up in Brownsville, moving to Central Texas to play college tennis after high school. After six years as a personal banker and bank manager, he was very excited to become a partner in Mud Puppies in 2008, achieving his dream of working with dogs every day.

He has always had a passion for animals and has a special connection with dogs. His involvement with dogs goes beyond daily interaction with them at Mud Puppies. Edward is a board member for Austin Dog Rescue, serving as a foster parent since 2009. Because of Edward’s and Mud Puppies’ commitment to saving animals from kill shelters, more than 100 dogs have found forever homes through ADR.

Edward’s commitment to excellence in business and community service is evident by his numerous achievements, including:

  • Three year apprentice as a dog trainer. Working one on one with clients, and assisting in group class settings.

  • Member of City of Austin’s Animal Advisory Commission appointed by Jimmy Flanagan since 2017

  • Member of City of Austin Off Leash Area Advisory Committee from 2011-2012

  • Therapy Dog Team member with Divine Canines since 2014 and his dog Kaxan was named one of the top three therapy dog in the nation by American Human Hero Dog Awards in 2019

  • Two time finalist for Amplify Austin’s “Big Giver” Award

  • 2015 Keynote Speaker at the Ronald McDonald House Scholarship Dinner

  • 2014 Board Member “Barkitecture Austin”

  • Trainer of KXAN News’ Mascot, Kaxan

  • Producer on CityDog Austin

  • Volunteered with various organizations. Family Eldercare, Austin Human Society, Williamson County Animal Shelter, Emancipet, Austin Animal Center, Austin Pug Rescue, Love-A-Bull, and many more.

Kelley Struve
Co-Owner

Kelley Struve is an owner and the General Manager of Mud Puppies’ North location. She was born in Texas and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kelley worked in various industries before she found her way to Mud Puppies in 2008, and knew it was the career for her. She is passionate about the care of every dog that comes to Mud Puppies and brings people to the team that want the same for every client. Beyond the happiness of Mud Puppies’ dogs, Kelley enjoys the long-standing relationships she has cultivated with clients, each one being a bright spot in her day.

Mud Puppies North location, under Kelley’s supervision, has fostered many dogs for Austin Dog Rescue. In addition to fostering at work, Kelley and her family have fostered 30 dogs in their home. Kelley has four dogs of her own, two chihuahuas and two pitbulls. In her spare time she enjoys traveling the world.
